Notes
• Classic Ventana experience is camping at Pat Spring Camp.
• Many then opt to dayhike to Ventana Double Cone
• Do not drive private Long Ridge Road, will create resident encounters/problems, no place to park at Turner Creek Trail - hikers ok when staying on road
• Start of Turner Creek Trail obscure, not well marked - towards end of road will see gate straight-ahead, curve right along now descending road for short distance, then look left
• Trail section near Turner Creek Camp often overgrown/difficult - look for and use usetrail bypass
• Pat Spring only perennial source along ridgeline
• Many prefer to camp on ridge just above Pat Spring Camp proper, to get view - but if windy, can get blown off
•
Note: many photomap photos taken on evalution hike immediately following Soberanes wildfire, so much looks burnt - not the case now
