Overview
Attractions are coastal views on ascent then inland views of Big Sur River region. Ascend along South Fork of Big Sur River, then contour in Zigzag Creek drainage before
entering narrow riparian canyon. Many side trail trip possibilities.
Camps
Variety of camps (and use camps) along creeks and in meadows, shaded and unshaded. Dispersed camping also possible. For water information check individual camp descriptions on
interactive map.
Access
72 hour parking along Route 1 at trailhead.
Notes
• Bridge over Arroyo Seco at east end of Marble Peak Trail washed away - fording on rocks north of bridge difficult, possible only in very dry conditions
• DeAngulo Trail can provide shorter route than Boronda Trail, but has obscure middle section requring navigation skills or GPS.
